Greetings. I hope you and your families are enjoying this first month of summer. Here, in Santa Fe, we have been alternating between intense heat and cool, cloudy days. I’m happy to be sharing some beautiful examples of contemporary glass sculpture with you today. I look forward to any comments or questions that you may have. |

Poesia This classic Lino piece is a sumptuous study in blue. The elegant form, the masterful cane work and the subtle gradation of colors combine to make this piece one of the maestro’s most beautiful creations. |

Boldizsar Lukacsi represents the youngest generation of a family of glass sculptors. His sense of both classical and contemporary art was instilled in him from an early age. After learning his refined sculpting techniques mostly from his father, the internationally acknowledged artist Laszlo Lukacsi, he has developed his own voice over the last decade. In his works he examines the attraction of opposites and their interactions. |

Blue Wafer Oloid New Hampshire based artist Toland Sand creates optical glass sculptures that to be fully appreciated must be seen in the round. The two images shown here give the viewer some idea of how dissimilar a piece can look when seen from different angles. |

Chroma Curve Seattle artist John Kiley’s blown and fused glass sculptures are a balancing act of form and color. In this exuberantly colorful new piece John masterfully explores that relationship. |

Classic Moves Santa Fe glass artist Harry Pollitt was formerly a wood sculptor before turning his attention to glass many years ago. I love the fluidity and the use of negative space in this beautiful piece. |
