November 2010Greetings From Kenn Holsten
Greetings! The fall season is winding down. The Holsten Galleries FALL CATALOG (12 in glass) is still available for your browsing, just click the link in the center of the home page. Please feel free to contact me for a print version of this catalog. For this months newsletter I am including new works by several of the artists I represent. I wish you all a pleasant Thanksgiving and a smooth entry into the winter season.
Quote of the Month
There is not a single day in the studio that I do not ask myself, “How would Lino Tagliapietra do it?”
– Dante Marioni
Lino Tagliapietra
Maui
21.5″ x 14.25″ x 7.75″
This colorful new work by Maestro Tagliapietra reminds me of both our beautiful fall colors which are rapidly disappearing and the vibrant sunsets on the island for which this series was named.
Hiroshi Yamano
Nagare 90
9.5″ x 10″ x 9.5″
I love the color of this particular Yamano piece. The photo only hints at the shape of the fish element which sits inside the bowl.
Jose Chardiet
Cactus Flower
13.5″ X 7.5″
In the past year Jose has been re-exploring the vessel form. This is an elegant example of that series.
Dale Chihuly
Floatsome and Jetsam
37″ X 27″
Dale’s latest lithograph is a 3-color print with hand work and a painted signature. Its title is a play on words relating to one of his lesser known series, the Floats.
Latchezar Boyadjiev
Movement I
21″ x 6″ x 4″
This beautiful cast piece is an excellent example of Latchezar’s interweaving of figurative and abstract elements
Alex Bernstein
Light Blue Crest
23″ x 7″ x 3″
I love both the color and the form of this cast piece. To get a glimpse of what went into the making of this piece, take a look at the following YouTube video.
These works are a small sampling of what is available not only by the artists included here but also by many others at www.holstengalleries.com. I hope you enjoyed this message and I look forward to staying in touch.
