TASV 31 Massachusetts glass artist Sidney Hutter is well known for his colorful plate glass sculptures. Typically the glass itself is clear and the color pigment is mixed with the laminate. This creates a myriad of views depending upon the perspective of the beholder. The example Sid and I chose for this newsletter is a great example of this aspect of his work. |

Midsummer Cloud Seattle based glass artist Nancy Callan generously offered me two pieces from her Iconic "Cloud" series to feature in this newsletter. I liked them both so much that I could not decide which one to feature here so I am including both! I love the organic, lyrical quality of this series which just might be my favorite of all the beautiful work Nancy creates. |

Poesia "Poesia" is a perfect name for this piece by the Maestro! The term "poetry in motion" comes to mind as the depth and intricate cane work in this piece creates an illusion of motion. |

Blue Horizon Oloid This recent piece by California artist Toland Sand is a particularly wonderful example of his work. It could almost be a different piece from any different angle viewed. It is dramatic in its impact but also has a quiet and reflective quality. The form is quite sophisticated and different from other series that Toland has made.
