Holsten Galleries newsletter
Greetings! I hope you and your loved ones had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration and are enjoying the change of seasons. In this month’s edition of Holsten Galleries news I have focused on the work of five of the world’s greatest glassblowers. |
"Glass is the most magical of all materials." – Dale Chihuly |

Fuji Lino employed two of his favorite techniques in this elegant piece, filigrana (or cane work) and murrine (colored patterns or images). This is one of the most vibrantly colorful examples of this well known series by the maestro. |

Pilchuck Summer Series #8 When California glass pioneer Marvin Lipofsky was alive he created his work at glass centers all over the world. One such series is his famous Pilchuck Summer Series and I have chosen a piece from that series to feature this month. |
Stone Vessel It’s been a while since I have featured a piece by retired Seattle area glass artist William Morris. I recently ran across an available archival piece from one of William’s early series called “Stone Vessels,” inspired by Stonehenge. I find this piece to be a particularly exceptional example of his earlier work.. |

Leaf Vessels Another great glassblower from Seattle is Dante Marioni. Here I have chosen a pair of his Leaf Vessel series to share with you. |
Thanks for taking part of your day to enjoy some of the world’s greatest glass art. I wish you happy holidays and look forward to hearing from you. Kenn Holsten |
