Holsten Galleries newsletter
Greetings. Autumn is the most colorful time of year and I have chosen some colorful glass sculptures to share with you in this month’s edition of Holsten Galleries News. Enjoy the colors and the incredible creativity of these works. I look forward to hearing from you with any questions or comments you might have. |
"It does not matter the materials we use. We need the technique and we need the idea. And then we need poetry, the love that transforms the material into a piece of art." – Lino Tagliapietra

Twilight Curve I am happy to have all new inventory from John Kiley as of today, please see this page. It was difficult to single out just one of the great new pieces John has made available to me but I ended up choosing Twilight Curve. The form here is sophisticated and very appealing and the palette of colors sublime. |

Picadilly This is certainly one of the most dramatic and exuberant Lino Tagliapietra pieces I’ve seen. I love the bold colors and also the alternating bands of cold work and canes. Another masterpiece by the Maestro! |
Spring Reflections Just today Jon sent me this image of a new piece from his iconic cube series. As one walks around this dazzling piece or spins it on its rotating base, beams of color issue forth from the inner cube of core material. Feel free to ask me for a video clip of this piece! |

Venus Heart I love this sculpture by Massachusetts glass artist Martin Rosol. It is so elegant and yet so understated. Only the most highly skilled artist who has been working with cold glass for decades could have carved such a perfectly sculpted form out of solid blocks of glass. |
Frantic Buns Johnson This piece from one of Stephen Powell’s older series is a majestic study in color and form. As in all of Stephen’s work, the murini work is spot on. And the sensuous form is both playful and sophisticated. |

Mauve Floats This new piece by Toland Sand is a study in suspended animation. The clear glass can almost be seen as negative space surrounding little universes of color and form. The vertical thrust of the sculpture is bold and uplifting. |
Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to enjoy these pieces by some of the most talented glass artists in the world. I look forward to staying in touch. Kenn Holsten |
